IMPROVISATION FOR BEGINNERS WORKSHOP with SIMONE SEALES
Join ‘cellist and improvisor Simone Seales for a warm and welcoming session aimed at anyone who has an interest in exploring improvisation, but has previously felt a little nervous about giving it a try.
Suitable for any instrumentalist or vocalist from any discipline, whether you are an amateur or experienced professional, this workshop will explore how to make sound together as a group and how to express feelings and sounds without musical notation. It will be playful, engaging and a lot of fun.
ABOUT SIMONE SEALES
Originally from Florida, Simone Seales is a Glasgow-based cellist and performance artist. They focus on free improvisation, live looping, poetry, and devising music for theatre. Through their collaborative and creative process, they prioritize play, silliness, and connection.
Passionate about reaching new audiences and increasing access to arts education, Simone is the Ambassador Programme Assistant for the Benedetti Foundation. They focus on trauma-informed teaching practices, which is also embedded within their role as a part-time lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Suitable for 14+, those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (no charge for the adult unless they are also participating in the workshop).
